We are a volunteer-led organization and 100% of funds raised are used to enhance our children’s education and fill in gaps where there have been budget cuts.
This year, we plan to further the mission of the PTA in the following ways:
-
Provide full-time Immersion Assistants in all of our language immersion classrooms
-
Purchase all student supplies
-
Create a wonderful student directory for our families to stay connected with their fellow scotty dogs.
-
Pay for the Taproot Theatre to visit McDonald and perform an anti-bullying play
-
Provide scholarships and additional funds to send all McDonald 4th graders to Islandwood for 4 days of intensive scientific exploration with Ms. Eileen.
-
Organize, fund and staff the Welcome & Orientation event
-
Spend $12,000 on mini-grants to our teachers to help them stock their classrooms with materials that the school district is unable to provide (i.e., sets of wooden blocks, art supplies, books)
-
Provide refreshments at our PTA meetings and childcare scholarships
-
Keep you up-to-date about important McDonald news through our website and weekly e-newsletter communication
-
Fund community-building events like Family Movie Night.
-
Pay for Math, Art and music enrichment for all students.
