I was born and raised in Michigan and received a bachelors degree in English from the University of Michigan. My husband and I moved to Seattle six years ago where I started out by working as the supervisor in the customer service department of a skincare company. I decided quickly that it was time for me to finish my schooling to become a teacher at last! I received my Master’s in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University and started my student teaching at Coe Elementary. I have been substitute teaching at Coe, Queen Anne and McDonald the past two years. It was nice keeping at a limited number of schools because it gives you a chance to really get to know the students and the school. After subbing this past year at McDonald I fell in love and instantly felt like this was the school for me. I am delighted to be a kindergarten teacher, if I could choose one grade to teach, it would be kindergarten!
When I am not at school I spend all the time I can with my husband Terry and our amazing dog Ralph. He is a 65lb. Boxer that your students will probably hear about daily. He does some pretty funny things so be ready for some stories!
I am very excited to be a part of McDonald Elementary and the new language immersion program. I am really looking forward to helping build a new school!
