Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Assembly and March - Jan. 12

On Friday, January 12th, McDonald will be holding our annual Assembly and March to honor the ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  This annual event gives our students the opportunity to learn about the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and to bear witness to the ideals of freedom, justice, and equality for all people.

The All-School Assembly will be held in the gym at the beginning of the school day.  Ms. Oakley’s class will lead the program. After the Assembly, all students and staff will form lines and leave on our March from the back of the school about 8:30 am. We expect to finish and return to school no later than 9:30 am.  Students will march on the sidewalks from our school to the Tangletown Business District and back. We’ll be carrying signs and chanting and singing as we go.

Unfortunately, we do not have room for parents to watch the Assembly in the gym.  However, if you’d like to observe the march, please stand along the sidewalk and cheer us on!

For more information, contact Judy Oerkvitz or Kathy Jolly, Acting Principal.
