Parents/Kids Night Out

The Moonpaper Tent

Parent's Night Out Every Friday, 5:30-9:30pm, ages 4-up. Cost is $30 per child non-refundable (sibs receive a 10% discount). Kids enjoy the night out too! Each month adventure through a different amazing theme, creative drama, dress-up, arts and crafts, stories, and more.

Seattle Gymnastics Academy - Ballard

Parents' Night Out is every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month from 6-1pm. Enjoy a night on the town and know that your kids are having fun. Kids will be guided through a night filled with gymnastics, a pizza dinner, mind-engaging games, and a late night movie (you can bring your own G-rated options if you like). Cost is $35 per child. Woodland Park Zoo

Kids ages 4-11 will enjoy a fun-filled and educational evening (5:30-10pm) under the supervision of zoo staff inside Zoomazium. Supervised activities include games, puppet shows, movie, and a live animal encounter, plus a pizza dinner. Cost is $30 per child, $22 each additional sibling. More info.

Architecture for Kids

Architect Dora Taylor writes Architecture 101 for Kids and Teens and runs summer workshops for grade 3-8 kids that cover what's been built, what's being built now, and how architects do what they do.

With themes like "Egyptian Architecture and Design," "Amusement Parks," "Eco-House," and "Atlantis" - check out the workshop descriptions on Dora's website.

Art/Music/Drama Camps

Wondering what to do the last week of school or the week after? Itching to make music or participate in drama? John Hay and Queen Anne Elementary will be combining to offer two art/music/drama camps! 

Boys & Girls Club of Wallingford

After school care is available from 2:30-7pm. Students can take a school bus directly from McDonald Int'l after school to Boys & Girls Club of Wallingford at 1310 N 45th St. The cost? Free to kids with $36 annual membership. No, that is not a typo.

C.A.N.: Clay Animation Network

Students of C.A.N. classes are supported in creating original animated movies, and learn how to interact with art and technology as creators rather than consumers. C.A.N. offers free workshops, summer programs, weekend and after school classes.

Chess4Life

Keep your kids' minds active over the summer in chess camps and combination chess+partner camps. Studetns learn, practice, and improve their skills in chess and compete in low-key camp tournaments. Check out their Summer Camp schedule.

Grand Slam Camp

Grand Slam Camp will be at Lower Woodland Park for its 23rd year August 1st through 4th.  Grand Slam is a baseball/softball camp for kids ages 7-12 and operated by teachers leading a staff of current college ballplayers, providing positive role models.  Campers learn the game in a positive, upbeat and safe environment.  The culture of baseball and the life lessons the game provides are a point of emphasis.  For details visit www.grandslamsports.org.

Green Lake School-Age (GLSA) Care Program

Located across from Greenlake Elementary on 65th. No transportation currently offered from McDonald, but they welcome McDonald kids for before/after school care and summer camp. Green Lake School-Age (GLSA) Care Program

Kids Tribe Project

A non-profit after school program located in Ballard and centered in fostering creative intelligence and neighborhood/place-based-learning. Pick up is available from school and care is offered until 6pm. Learn more at www.kidstribeproject.com

Little Explorers Everyday Enrichment Club

Located near 65th & Latona, Little Explorers offers fun with friends, special enrichment classes and plenty of time outdoors.  Enrichment includes Crafting, Cooking, Writing, Science, Art, Math, Sports and more! Students can enroll on an ongoing basis or drop in if space is available. Transportation from McDonald after school is provided - parent pick up time is 5:30 pm at Little Explorers School. Little Explorers Everyday Enrichment Club

Northwest Girlchoir Summer Sing Camp

Wanting to sing through summer and beyond? Consider joining Northwest Girlchoir’s Summer Sing camp for girls entering 2-7, a fun music camp that emphasizes play, great singing and teamwork! It’s an outstanding nonprofit organization that offers a well-rounded musical experience for young girls.

nourishME! Camp

Children will learn basic cooking skills, the importance of good nutrition, and taste a wide variety of foods in a creative, fun, and supportive environment. Please visit the site for class and camp information. 

Om Culture

After School: OmCulture Wallingford provides affordable after school care on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 2:30-5:30pm for kids in 1st through 5th grades. There is a school bus stop right next to our studio (McDonald bus #782), where kids from McDonald are met by a staff member to safely walk over to the program together. Each day consists of activities like gymnastics, free play, and healthy snacks, as well as a short Circus Arts class. Give your kids the magical experience of OmCulture this school year! Summer Camp: Want a fun, safe place for your child to play this summer? OmCulture Wallingford is offering 8 weeks of affordable, all day, circus arts summer camp, from June 26 - Sept. 1 for children ages 6-12. Kids will get the chance to learn circus arts skills on silks, as well as have time for free play, outdoor activities, music circle time, and more! One on One Basketball & Dual Sport Camps

From One on One: "We do not pack kids into a gym like sardines... we run smaller-sized camps that enable us to teach fundamentals more easily with the ability to reinforce technique with each individual player.  Your child may be a beginner or they may play on a competitive team already...it doesn't matter.  They will be challenged and they will progress in our camps."

Peace Camp International

Peace Camp is an all-ages, non-denominational community day-camp experience for children and youth located in the Ballard area of Seattle. Learn more.

Reel Grrls & You Grow Girl!

Learn how they make your favorite cartoon show or movie! Girls work in teams to use clay, paper, puppets, whiteboards and more to create an animated world. Learn storyboarding, script writing, teamwork, acting/directing, using a camera, editing and more. Reel Grrls is a nonprofit organization partnering with You Grow Girl! to offer summer camp programs for girls. Seattle Explorers Music Camp

Seattle Explorers will be hosting a MUSIC CAMP this summer July 20-24th in the Queen Anne neighborhood. What makes a sound become music? Are some patterns just automatically pleasing, while others are instantly disturbing?  Explore these questions and many more. More info at SeattleExplorers.com.

Seattle’s Littlest Performers

Seattle's Performers Creative Space After-School Program is now open for Fall 2015 registration! Creative Space includes daily outside park time, snack, and FREE transportation from McDonald Int'l.

SP offers creative and performing arts in a small environment with limited enrollment for after-school, only enrolling a max of 15 students with two teachers to allow for more specialized instruction in drama, dance, and voice, as well as set and costume design. Sonic CrossFit Kids

Sonic Crossfit for teens and kids is the only CrossFit gym in Seattle limited to only age 18 and under programming. It's not like adult crossfit. Sonic is their own place to get strong and move every day. Behind the Kabul restaurant in Wallingford. Classes available Monday-Thursday 2:45-6:30pm and Saturdays 10-1:30pm. Summertime Tutor

Cynthia Simon (she took over for Ms. Brooke's 2nd grade class this year) is available as a tutor for this summer. She can best support 1st-3rd grade with any classroom subject (math, reading, writing, social studies, science, art, etc). She also can teach students how to use the abacus/soroban to do fast (and mental) mathematical arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, etc.). Email for more information.

TCSP Tennis Camps

Tennis Center Sand Point offers tennis camps at two locations, TCSP & Kellogg Middle School. Camps focus on tennis skills for all ages and ability levels, athletic skills, and life skills.  All in a fun, positive, upbeat atmosphere. TGA Golf and Tennis Camps

TGA combines expert instruction, on-course-on-court application and exciting activities and drills that keep your kids active all day.

University YMCA

The University Family YMCA offers a variety of after school, no school, and summer camp programming options at a variety of locations. Visit their website for details and to register.

Wilderness Awareness School

Since 1995, Wilderness Awareness School’s Summer Camps for ages 4-18 have cultivated young people’s understanding and appreciation of nature, community and self.

Through exploration, adventure, and creative play, students work together in small groups gaining knowledge of plants, mammals, tracking, birds and survival skills.

Highly trained instructors guide students into experiences that nurture their connection to the earth and build skills that will serve them for a lifetime.

WISE Camps

WISE camps offer exciting chemistry and math courses in the morning & afternoon in August for students entering grades 3-9 at Newport High School in Bellevue. The science camps are designed to give students hands-on experience with lab equipment and learn basic chemistry (students will learn the chemistry behind fire, tie-dye, color-changing reactions and so much more!). The math camps are designed to excite students about advanced topics with tons of hands-on activities. Cost of the camp includes a t-shirt for tie-dying and lunch on campus for those who choose to do full day. Woodland Park Zoo School Days Out & Summer Camps

Woodland Park Zoo offers school days out fun on teacher in-service and days between semesters.

During the summer there are half-day camps for pre-schoolers, Natural History games for 10-14 year olds, and a lot in between. They offer activities and camps throughout the year. For more information, see Camps & Programs on the Woodland Park Zoo website.

Free YouthSpark Summer Camps

Free YouthSpark Summer Camps at the Microsoft Stores in University Village and Bell Square Mall for kids 8+. Kids get hands-on experience with the latest technology as they learn how to code, create games, and use their creativity and imagination.

Woodland Park Zoo: Zoo Tunes Concerts

Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo hosts an annual Zoo Tunes summer concert line-up, which is reliably awesome and much of it FREE!
